I was born in 1940, lived mostly in the west and belonged to a number of churches. My wife, Debbie and I were looking for a church family and someone in the Colorado Mountains to teach religion to our daughters. We found Pastor Dan Rohlwing, with kids our daughters ages, and became Lutherans in the early ’80’s. I see the job of council to work with the Pastor to oversee the budget and policies of the church but not as an administrator of the church. I believe a strong youth program is important for the continuation of Christianity. Young adults are the key to church survival. A diverse music program brings out the warm and fuzzy and a Pastor with new ideas, charisma and energy holds the church together. I arrived at Joy Lutheran three years ago when we were living at the Residence Inn in Lone Tree and our first and only grand daughter was born, 17 Nov ’17. We bought a condo in Heather Gardens for part time use but things happen and it has become a full time residence. We have two daughters, one in Parker, the other in Broomfield. Thank you for allowing my name to be considered for church council.
