At Joy Lutheran Church we give in order to fulfill our mission:
To share the Love of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with all people through worship and discipleship to extend Christ's kingdom in the world.
It is part of serving God and our community.
To join God in changing lives and changing the world we rely on the consistent and generous contributions from individuals and organizations. We deeply value and appreciate those who believe in the mission of God expressed through Joy Lutheran Church and partner with us financially.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Driven by the question, "What are we learning about ourselves and our ministries during the COVID-19 quarrantine?" we should ask the important questions about why we do what we do and what it means to be the church in an ever-changing world. Let us explore some signs of hope.
First – About Ourselves: We are spending much more time at home with our loved ones. We are fending more for ourselves to procure basic necessities, even redefining what fits into the category of basic necessity. We have new responsibilities of cooking at home. We have had to develop new strategies to ensure the health of our families. Basically, our slower pace has altered our realities.
Second – About Our Ministries: Worship does matter! Our staff has created on-line worship experiences that are engaging, relevant, and adaptable for our current situation. Although we are not able to meet in person, what is being done is a complement to the work already happening in Joy Lutheran. Each week more members and visitors are worshiping with us through an on-line service filled with the Word of God, a great sermon, heartfelt prayers, and beautiful music. We also see these things happening:
One of the most important things a church can do during a crisis is to continue to serve the Lord and to love its neighbors. Our pastor and staff are correct in focusing on worship and encouraging members to take care of themselves and others. This is the way to keep being the best church we can be during this trying time.
At the same time, we continue to have budgetary commitments during this pandemic crisis. We have staff to pay as we prepare for our leadership expansion via the hiring of an additional pastor, for facility maintenance, and for mortgage payments. We thank you very much for your generosity up to this point and ask that you:
Thank you for continuing to support the ministries in and through Joy in any way you can.
