BLOOD DRIVE: JOY is arranging a blood drive for April 20, in conjunction with Servant Day. A quantity of 30 people are needed to sign-up for donations that day at the Vitalant Donation Center on Parker Road, in Parker. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board. When we have at least 30 people, there will be a computer link which will allow you to choose a donation time on 4/20 between 7:00a and 2:30p.
As another of our many servant day projects, we will be collecting items for Mother's Day for Parker Task Force. Lotion, lip balm, face cream, Starbucks gift cards, all things in a bag of stuff moms might use to celebrate a bit of fun! We will gather and bag these items on April 20th at Servant Day. Please leave items at the Donation Station in the narthex.
As part of Servant Day, we will be collecting items for housewarming boxes for those leaving Denver Rescue Mission. This will help them get off to a good start. Click HERE to see and sign-up for the needed items. We are also collecting socks! Socks for men and women are one of the most needed items for the homeless.
Please deliver any and all items to the bin labeled Denver Rescue Mission in the narthex.
Join us in spreading the joy of reading. We're calling on generous donors to contribute gently used children's books to help inspire young, indigenous minds. Your donation can make a significant impact by providing kids access to engaging stories and fostering a love for learning. Let's come together to create a brighter future through the magic of storytelling. Learn more about donating books HERE.
According to the U.S. Department of the Interior, Americans throw away at least 300 million pairs of shoes each year. These shoes end up in landfills, where they can take 30-40 years to decompose.
Nashville, TN - based Soles4Souls is an international non-profit dedicated to diverting usable shoes from landfills and redistributing them to people in need. By extending the life of shoes that may have otherwise been prematurely discarded, we can care for both people and our planet. We can help people living in poverty and homelessness, natural disasters, domestic violence, and war and political unrest. Bring your used-but-good shoes to JOY before April 20th for our Soles4Souls project.
