The Winter Shelter Network is a collective of churches serving homeless women and women with children in Douglas County by providing a temporary safe shelter where they receive rest, meals, and connection during the winter months. This involves many volunteers and we would love for you to join us in this wonderful life-changing mission. The volunteer positions include: set up of cots and dinner settings, cooking dinner for the guests and evening volunteers; evening hosts who provide a listening ear and companionship to the guests; overnight hosts here during the night to offer assistance if needed; breakfast set up; clean-up which involves bagging up bedding, cleaning, and folding cots among other things; laundering of blankets; providing lunch and breakfast foods for the guests.
