Pastor Rod will challenge us with a Wednesday evening Lenten study, (6:30p) entitled "A Jesus-shaped Life". Here's his prologue:
Since the Council of Nicaea (325 AD), Lent has been a part of the Christian church in one form or another. The season of Lent was used to encourage spiritual disciplines like study and fasting in preparation for Easter and baptism!
During the Wednesdays of Lent, we will exercise the disciplines of eating soup, enjoying fellowship, and engaging in study. We will examine how the Holy Spirit is working in our lives to transform us so that we can let go of self-destructive tendencies, see and value people the way that Jesus does, and reflect Jesus’ love, joy, and peace to others around us. Since Jesus is our Savior, mentor, and example, we strive to grow in our faith and be more like him. It’s possible! Let’s figure this out together.
