Sparks are gestures of kindess that bring joy.  In celebration of Joy Lutheran Church’s 50th Anniversary, we came up with 50 ideas that will spark joy in the community and we are inviting you to join the fun. 

We also put the list on 5 different bookmarks that you can download below.

  • Call an old friend and catch up.
  • Send a card to someone to let them know you care.
  • Baking treats? Share them - Yum!
  • Give out more compliments. Invite a coworker to go on break with you. 
  • Leave flowers on a neighbor’s doorstep.
  • Pay for the person behind you in the  drive-thru.
  • Offer a hug.
  • Give out high 5’s!
  • Hold the door open for the next person and say hello.
  • Send a snail mail to an old friend.
  • Leave out water or snacks for the  delivery driver.
  • Tell the cashier that you appreciate them.
  • If someone you  know is ill, drop off  a meal.
  • Offer to mow your neighbor’s lawn.
  • Randomly hand out a $5 treat gift card.
  • Plant a tree.
  • Volunteer at the Parker Task Force.
  • Take toys to the Children's Hospital.
  • Write inspirational messages on the sidewalk in chalk. 
  • Send a letter or care package to a member of the military.
  • Pick up trash in the neighborhood.
  • Donate winter gear.
  • Pick up groceries for someone who is  busy or ill.
  • Pray for a specific person who needs support.
  • Offer to watch a friend’s kids.
  • Give a gift for no reason.
  • Volunteer at a nursing home.
  • Brush snow off the car next to you.

  • Leave a positive comment on a sticky note for a coworker.

  • Serve food at the Denver Rescue Mission. Shovel a neighbor’s driveway.
  • Strike up a  conversation while waiting in line.

  • Leave painted rocks with inspirational notes around town.
  • Offer to be the car pool driver for your kid’s events.
