Jesus is Your Refuge in Life's Storms

Sunday’s Gospel Lesson shares the experience of the disciples being frightened when they saw the ghost-like figure of Jesus walking on the water while in a boat tossed by stormy winds. (August 13, 2023) “And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, ‘Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid’.” (Matthew 14:26-27) Then Peter started sinking after beginning his walk on the water. He fearfully cried out to Jesus, “Lord, save me!  Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him.”  (Matthew 14: 28-33). He is also your help in life’s storms.
