An Iowa native, she received degrees in studio and commercial art at the University of Minnesota, where she also studied piano and voice. After moving to the Pacific Northwest she worked as a graphic designer and learned floral design. Additional education at the University of Washington prepared her to spend a dozen years as a high school teacher of English, art, and calligraphy. She then changed course and operated an event planning business in Seattle for over a decade. A job opportunity for her husband, Brad, occasioned a happy settling in the Denver area in 2016. Marcia and Brad enjoy travel, wine, cooking, gardening, reading, sports, and music. Marcia has been involved in the church from her earliest years and is happy to now be serving in ministry at JOY.
Lindsey is our new Youth Director who loves spending time and building relationships with the incredible youth here at Joy. She is a CO native, but doesn’t ski (weird, right?). Lindsey lives downtown and loves going to Rockies, Nuggets, Avalanche and BRONCO games! She loves to sing, dance and be silly. She also cannot wait to see the amazing things God has in store for Joy Lutheran Church.
Linda has been teaching music to kids and adults of all ages since 1986. Believing that music is for everyone and is essential to life, Linda's career has included being an elementary, middle, and high school vocal music specialist and choir director. She has also worked with church ensembles including choirs of all ages, bell choirs, and contemporary worship bands for more than 30 years. She has also composed and arranged music for school and church groups, and has served as an actor, pianist, and music director for numerous musicals involving people of all ages.
