Lindsey is our new Youth Director who loves spending time and building relationships with the incredible youth here at Joy. She is a CO native, but doesn’t ski (weird, right?). Lindsey lives downtown and loves going to Rockies, Nuggets, Avalanche and BRONCO games! She loves to sing, dance and be silly. She also cannot wait to see the amazing things God has in store for Joy Lutheran Church.
Growing up in a musical family, where his Dad led a dance band for over 50 years, it is no surprise that Doug taught music for 37 years. Although retired from teaching now, he still shares his musical talent by leading our Music Ministry. Directing Voices of Joy and Polished Brass, organizing small ensembles, singing and playing his trumpet are just a few ways he serves here at Joy. Doug’s family is also musically talented. He has four sons, three grandsons and you will often find his wife Kristi, sons, Ryan and Luke participating in worship by singing or playing their instruments. When he is not leading our Music Ministry, you can find him playing with the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. His real passion in the music business is jazz and he cites Lee Morgan as his favorite jazz trumpet player.
Jay joined the JLC staff in September, 2014. Prior to that he held positions at Glory of God Lutheran Church in Wheat Ridge, CO, King of Glory Lutheran Church in Arvada, CO, and First Presbyterian Church in Menominee, MI where he was organist and Director of Music Ministry for twenty years. He studied piano performance at University of Wisconsin and Northern Michigan University. In addition to his love of music he is an avid horseman and owns and operates a Morgan horse breeding farm in Elizabeth, CO.
