During this upcoming season of Lent, JOY is proud to host the first ever Lenten Concert Series which includes three unique musical events that will enhance your worship.
On Sunday, March 8th, the series will kick off with the Ebenezer Choir from Come To Jesus Ministries, a Denver church of the Rocky Mountain Synod of the ELCA made up of immigrants and refugees from the Congo. The Ebenezer Choir will lead all of the music for both the 8am and 10:30am services that Sunday morning.
On Wednesday, March 18th, JOY will host the Hamilton College Choir from Clinton, New York. Their conductor, Danan Tsan, is the niece of long time JLC member Karen Frey. The choir will join us for our Lenten Soup Supper, and then will share their music in a concert which will be our 6:30pm Lenten worship for that evening.
The final event of the concert series will feature our very own Voices of Joy choir and orchestra, sharing the Good Friday cantata, “A Journey To Hope,” presented as part of the 6:30pm Good Friday worship service on April 10th. This beautiful and powerful cantata is inspired by spirituals, and the music tells of the life, ministry, and passion of Jesus.
